Wedding

What a night! We were invited to one of our friends wedding last night and we have to admit that the atmosphere was so energetic and fun. Here, Muslim marriages are generally accepted by the parents, with the bride and groom themselves having the final say about who they will wed. The actual proposal is called the Katab el Kteb where the couple are married in Islamic law before the ceremony. Our friends wedding was celebrated in a hall with a mixture of Arabic and English music with drum beating as a base for the night. The fast dancing, the constant music,  dresses of different colors, the fresh aroma of arabic foods, clapping, drums, laughter, togetherness, family, friends and love filled the night.
